Please find the results of SHIMANO BURUNG HANTU 2014 as per below. These are the times for riders with chips passing through the finishing line detected by the transceiver. For DNS and DNF means either the participant did not cross the finished line or the transceiver was not receiving the signal from the chip or the participant did not attached the chip to the bike

We members and organizing team of Environmental Cycling Club would like to say a BIG Thank You to all "SHIMANO BURUNG HANTU" 2014 participants whom come from near and far just to take part in our sixth installation of MTB Nite Jamboree @ Dataran Sejarah, Ayer Keroh, Melaka on the 1st and 2nd November 2014.

Below is the itinerary for our "SHIMANO BURUNG HANTU" Nite Jamboree event on 1st and 2nd November 2014

 NOTE: To be read & understand for all participants * This itinerary is correct as of to date. The Event Organisers reserve the right to change or cancel the schedule at any time in case of poor weather conditions or any other unpredictable event.

*** IMPORTANT NOTE for riders registered under CLUBS/GROUPS *** Please make sure all your members who registered for the ride knows the group leader especially the one who will be collecting the t-shirts, goodies and plate numbers on behalf of the whole group. DO GET HIS/HER CONTACT NUMBER !! 
Last year we had participants who didn't even know who is the club member who collected on behalf of the group, when I give them the member's name. Some can't even find their rep until the event is about to start, so they were without number plates. REPRESENTATIVES - Please provide 2 contact numbers if possible cos in case yours is turned off (tada battery kah, jatuh dalam longkang kah, anak sudah pakai kah dan lain-lain). Cos there were members who could not contact their rep as well. And ...... please assign ONE CLUB ONE REPRESENTATIVE PLEASE ...... because we will not split the items for partial collection since they will all be prepacked before event day. Sorry for the long reminder cos I hope this year's event will have less hitches for all. Thank you very much for all your cooperation in making this a successful event!

Track and Profile

The starting and finishing point for upcoming "SHIMANO Burung Hantu 2014" event will be at Dataran Sejarah, Ayer Keroh, Melaka.
GPS location of start point: N2 16.443 E102 17.905
   
This year the track/trail will be an exciting trail for every cycling enthusiast.We try to make it great, fun and enjoyable trail for everyone. The distance of the whole journey will be about 48km which mostly passes the palm oil plantation, rubber estates. A little up and down hill is expected. Not to forget technical single course trails which you'll enjoy in some areas. Thus , we bring you a great trail you'll never forget.

Do not worry of being in the dark as we will have LED lights every 50 metres alongside with your bright torchlight to guide you inside the offroad trail.

That's not all, we will have 3 check points for riders to check their stops and 3 refilled water station provided thereafter. We try our very best to give a great new ride to all our participants.
(P/S: Kindly bring your OWN WATER BOTTLE as we are only refilling waters. WE WILL NOT PROVIDE ANY WATER BOTTLES to any particpiants)

So please obey our rules and follow the led lighting trail as well as do look for signboards and paper trails during your ride. Do not run off course by taking any shortcuts or whatsoever. We will not be responsible for anything if you create your own route during the event.

Also during the event itself, we will have ride marshall, off-road motorbike marshall to accompany participants. ENJOY THE RIDE. SEE YOU THERE

REGISTRATION FORMS and REGULATIONS

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU REGISTER, IS IMPORTANT!!!!  
Event : SHIMANO Burung Hantu 2014
Date : 1st & 2nd November 2014 
Venue : Dataran Sejarah Ayer Keroh, Melaka  
Flag Off Time: 8.30PM

Registration Fee :
  • Race RM80 (Limited to 300 participants ONLY
  • Jamboree RM60 (Limited to 1700 participants ONLY)  
 
Categories : Race 300 pax, Jamboree 1700 pax ONLY  
Important Rule: No Number plate, no lights, no helmet....NO RIDE 
This year’s jamboree is carried out same as the year before. Riders can choose between 2 categories:- Race or Jamboree. Riders from the race group will be placed at the front of the starting line. The overall result will include riders from the both categories for top 500 finishers only.

How to take part?
1st make sure which category you want to join. Refer below for further information

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED. (SEE YOU AT EVENT VENUE)
For Race (Limited to 300 PAX ONLY)
  1. Download the RACE Registration form individual or group
  2. Fill in all the details needed in the registration form
  3. Bank-in the registration fee of RM80 per pax made payable to Maybank Acc Name; Mah Seng Kooi and Maybank Account No; 104013015248.
  4. Then, email us the registration form(s)  in EXCEL format, together with your bank-in proof to our email address ecc.malacca@gmail.com.
  5. Collect your goodies on the day itself and pay another RM50 deposit for the TIMING CHIP. 
  6. We will refund the RM50 after the ride when you return us the TIMING CHIP. 
  7. You will get the race result by Shimano and Burung Hantu overall result (overall result will only given up to 500 riders including riders from the jamboree). 
*Most important is you will have the chance to be place at the front before the Starting point.

  6. You are not allowed to queue infront or in the racing group. You will be identified by plate number colour.

*Overall ranking will be up to 500 ONLY together with the race group. Please take note, our marshal decision is the final decision. We thank you for your cooperation.  

Closing date for registration: 30 September 2014 All registration are to be sent by email to us at ecc.malacca@gmail.com and in excel format only. We do not accept any other format of forms. (No PDF, jpg, words, txt files, email). Also No fax or registration by hand. ANY SUBMISSION OTHER THAN EMAIL BY EXCEL FILE, WILL PROCEED FOR BURUNG HANTU 2020 REGISTRATION.

Please do not argue when you don't get your goodies or plate number on that day. This is to make sure we have a smooth registration for our secretariat. Your cooperation is much appreciate.

Charity… Every RM5 from your registration fee will go to charity as usual like previous year. We make this Burung Hantu happen because we love cycling and we love to organised for you guys to enjoy.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR INSURANCE POLICY IS VALID. This is a NON-PROFIT making event and is organized by volunteers who have sacrificed much of their time, energy and money FOC. We are not to be burdened by legal issues during and after the event. Riders must wear safety gear (helmets, shoes and hand gloves) during the event ride.  

Do not litter and take care of our environment.....you don't like haze, so do we, and we don't want rubbish. Your rubbish is the environment burden........See you on the day and enjoy the ride.

Cycling regulations for the upcoming Burung Hantu

As this is a nightly event, we emphasize riders to obey rules and have proper equipment list below during the ride.
THINGS TO BRING
• A bike that’s properly serviced and in tiptop condition.
• Helmet Compulsory for your own preservation.
• Torch light. Compulsory as you’ll need it to guide you in the dark.
• Extra batteries. Average battery life is 2 hrs. So additional batteries is needed to go on further.
• Back light (Red Light), so that when you are On The Road, the car from the back will notice you.
• Mini tools.
• Spare tubes (2pcs) and patches.
• Pump.
• Insect repellents.
• Mobile phone.
• Bright or Lumisnescent wear. Easy to notice you while you are riding
• Raincoat... COMFIRM RAIN as our rain occurs everytime during our previous Burung Hantu event.

RULES OF RIDE
Please slow down at junctions and watch out for these signs. Marshals will be stationed only at critical points to help guide riders. There will also be official Sweepers who will move into the trails after the cut off times for each stage. If you are unsure of the turnings and can’t find the signage, go back to the last seen trail marker and wait for the Sweepers.

Since this is a night ride event, we encourage group riding as you can rely on each other when help is needed. Sweeper will only carry those rider who are really injured and couldn’t continue the ride to the nearest check point to wait for the LORRY. Rider who reach the check point after the cut off time will ask to take the chicken loop or up to the LORRY. You are strictly not allowed to continue the ride after the cut off time of the check point. We understand you are paying for the ride, but you still need to follow our rules and regulation.

You can expect trail congestion during the initial parts of the ride, especially on the narrow single tracks. Stronger riders are advised to come to the front during flag off. If you should stop during a climb, do quickly move to the side of the trail and allow other riders to pass. This will help reduce trail congestion. Do give prior warning when passing a slower rider and only where the trail is wide enough to pass
